World Heritage Meets Literary Heritage
A special book fair is planned under the title “World Heritage Meets Literary Heritage”. At 3.30 pm, poetry slammer Aron Boks is expected at the RFB with a special programme to mark Reformation Day. ARON BOKS was born in Wernigerode in 1997 and lives in Berlin-Charlottenburg, where he works as an author, slam poet and presenter. In 2019, he received the Klopstock Prize for New Literature. Since 2021, he has been writing primarily for the *taz* and the *taz.FUTURZWEI* column “Stimme meiner Generation” (“Voice of My Generation”). In 2023, his book *Nackt in die DDR* (“Naked in the GDR”) was published, in which he traces the life of his great-great-uncle, the artist and official Willi Sitte. The book received widespread media coverage. Aron Boks himself never lived through the GDR era.
For him, the research and work on the book also provided a gateway to a deeper engagement with German-German history and its significance for the present day. Alongside his writing, Boks hosts literary and discussion events on this topic with people from East and West Germany who grew up after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
In 2026, his play “FREIHEIT:SIMSON” premiered in Suhl.
