The RFB holds more than 100,000 printed works and manuscripts from the Middle Ages and the early modern period. This valuable collection is kept in specially secured rooms within the castle, to which users and visitors to the research library do not normally have access. The guided tour lasts approximately 45 minutes.

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Castle Church’s designation as a World Heritage Site, the RFB is offering these storage room tours every Monday in October.
The event on 5 October 2026 at 4.00 pm is already fully booked. There are still places available for the tours on 12, 19 and 26 October 2026, all at 4.30 pm. Admission is free.
