The inventory of historical books has been enriched by two titles due to new acquisitions: for a few weeks now, Philipp Melanchthon’s work “Von ursprung und herkomen der Stat Torgaw”, printed by Christian Rödinger in Magdeburg in 1552 has been part of our holdings. In addition, the RFB has acquired an edition of Caesar’s “Bellum Gallicum” with the annotations of Heinrich Glarean, printed by Nikolaus Brylinger in Basel in 1544. The book was bound by a Wittenberg bookbinder and, with its historical binding, is a significant addition to the inventory.
