My name is Andreas Flurschütz da Cruz and I am delighted to be joining the RFB team from 1 October for a year, standing in for Caecilia Hein, who will be absent during this period. I am 44 years old and studied history in Bamberg, Munich and Madrid, before going on to complete my PhD and habilitation. Following extended periods abroad in Brazil, Spain and Italy, I have spent the last few years working primarily as a lecturer at the Universities of Würzburg and Bamberg. I am now looking forward to taking on new responsibilities in Wittenberg, the historical ‘centre of the Reformation’, and thus in an environment that is extremely inspiring, not only for historians. As a ‘newcomer’ to the city, I am looking forward to meeting many people and, of course, to welcoming you to the Research Library – please do feel free to come and speak to me!
